The festival has been celebrated for over two thousand years and one of its highlights is a dragon boat race. Other festivities include the serving of zongzi or rice dumplings and pyrotechnic displays.

The Chinese Lantern Festival - The Lantern Festival is usually celebrated in the months of February or March. Ghost Festival (Chinese Halloween)

The Ghost Festival - The Ghost Festival, sometimes known as Chinese Halloween, is celebrated on the 7th month of the lunar calendar, usually starting on the 15th night of that month. This is a day when the Chinese people honour their ancestors by offering them food and prayers. They believe that the spirits of departed come back to be among the living for the duration of the festival.

Chinese New Year (Spring Festival)

Chinese New Year - Also known as the Spring Festival, the Chinese New Year is held at the beginning of every lunar year. The festival is celebrated with gifts, feasts, dragon dances and firework displays. The Chinese New Year is one of the most important Chinese festivals and is celebrated by people all over the world.

Mid-Autumn Festival (Harvest Festival)

Mid-Autumn Festival - Also known as the Harvest Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated on a night with a full moon sometime in the month of September or October during the Autumnal Equinox. During the festival, families and celebrants go out to watch and admire the moon while eating moon cakes.
